We will also be looking into the three different types of news: Local, National and International, alongisde the legal and ethical side of news.
There is three different types of news which cover all the world, there is local news which report a region of a country. For example the Liverpool Echo, which is the main print supplier of news for Merseyside.
The Liverpool Echo is a tabloid newspaper that has been existing since 1879. The Liverpool Echo reports a large number of stories, from sports, to crime that happens in the city.
One of the usual features of the Liverpool Echo frontpage is two news pieces, one of Liverpool FC and one of Everton FC, the two Premier League football teams of the city.
Radio news you can get them in Radio City 96.7 or BBC Radio Merseyside. They are normally aired in bulletins, 10-15 minute shows where a presenter goes through them. Radio news shows normally are between radio programmes and they will use the national broadcast as it is cheaper and quicker. Radio news will also broadcast the international bulletin included in the national slot.
TV news programmes in the UK average 30 minutes duration, with a presenter that gives the introduction to the different news pieces. They are presented in a very formal and traditional way, and as the newspapers it has its local and national/international programmes. The local news will focus on a region, for example Granada Reports will cover the North West of the UK, while Sky News will report the whole UK and the rest of the world.
The other way of gathering news is the internet, which is the most popular and recent way of receiving news as it is the easiest to access, from social media, websites and apps. It is also, in the social media case the least reliable source of information as it is very easy to post a "fake news" on social media networks.
Internet provides a large range of sites to gather different news, you can find any news in the whole world in the internet within seconds, which is one of the reasons it is gaining the popularity it is gaining. You can gather news in various different devices like computer, mobile phone or tablet.
